The professional emergency rescue unit (PERT) of Transneft Kama Region has been certified by the Ministry of Energy commission of the Russian Federation to conduct gas rescue operations. The business unit was created to ensure the company’s readiness to contain and eliminate consequences of natural and man-caused emergencies.
Each rescuer underwent pre-certification training in a specialised educational centre in tactical and technical, altitude and medical training. Specialists practiced a set of measures for the collection, arrival at the accident site, exploration, search and evacuation of a victim, deployment of the gas rescue base and first-aid dressing. Teams readiness for prompt response to emergencies is checked once every three years.
Transneft Kama Region employees consolidate the acquired knowledge during emergency response drills on accidents elimination as well as in practical classes which are held as per schedule.
The sectoral commission of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation for certification of emergency rescue teams and rescuers of the oil and gas industry, as well as other industries of the fuel and energy sector, has confirmed the qualification of Transneft Kama Region PERT. Based on the audit results, an attestation certificate was received.
