Transneft Kama Region has released more than 22 thou wild carp juveniles into Kuybyshev Reservoir in Laishevo District of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The environmental compensatory measure on the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources was held as part of the corporate Programme for Biodiversity Conservation in the Areas near Transneft’s Facilities for 2019-2021.
The wild carp juveniles were raised by the order of Transneft Kama Region at a specialised fish farm in Saratov Region. The juveniles with the average weight of 150 grammes were delivered to the place of release in special containers providing the necessary oxygen and temperature conditions.
The release of juveniles was conducted with the participation of representatives of the Middle Volga Territorial Directorate of the Russian Federal Agency for Fishery, who confirmed their satisfactory condition.
Transneft Kama Region restores aquatic biological resources in all regions of its business activities. Among the fish species released into the natural environment are sterlet, wild carp, silver carp and pike. Since the beginning of 2020, Transneft Kama Region has released more than 200 thousand juveniles into the rivers of the Republics of Tatarstan and Udmurtia, as well as Perm Territory.
