Transneft Kama Region has completed scheduled repairs of the following six oil trunk pipelines: the Naberezhnye Chelny – Almetievsk, the Kaltasy – Kuibyshev, the Chekmagush – Aznakayevo, the Almetievsk – Kaleikino (high-sulfur), the Surgut – Polotsk and the Almetievsk – Kuibyshev-1. The Almetievsk – Nizhny Novgorod petroleum products pipeline was also repaired.
The repairs were performed by employees of Transneft Kama Region’s Perm, Almetievsk, Romashkino, Udmurtia and Kazan Regional Oil Pipeline Directorates (RPDs).
During a planned shutdown, a newly built 19 km-long section of the Almetievsk – Kaleikino OTP was connected. In addition, the Company's employees eliminated 14 defects and disconnected mainline pumps at Arbatskaya and Yelizavetinka-1 oil pumping stations (PS) for subsequent replacement. Also, a substandard air escape valve was removed, a substandard pressure tap was replaced, and midlife repairs of four gate valves were conducted.
During a 48-hour shutdown of the petroleum products pipeline, the crossover line between the Almetievsk – Nizhny Novgorod PPTP and the offshoot to Chistopolskaya oil depot was eliminated, and two dead-end sections with gate valves at the underwater crossing over the Kama River were dismantled.
The large-scale repairs were performed within the integrated technical upgrading, revamping, and overhaul programme of Transneft Kama Region in order to upgrade oil trunk pipelines and ensure uninterrupted and safe operation.
Transportation of oil through Transneft Kama Region’s trunk pipelines has been resumed within the planned deadlines, the pipelines are currently operating in the normal mode.
