Date of publication: 09 February 2018 Print

On 8 February 2018, Transneft Kama Region held a meeting of the emergency and fire safety committee dedicated to preparation of the Company’s oil trunk pipeline facilities for operation during the spring flood.

Transneft Kama Region will soon inspect and repair its equipment, examine and additionally reinforce the sections that are likely to be damaged by flood waters at all of its production facilities.

The focus will be on operations at points where the oil pipelines cross water obstacles.

Task forces to monitor technical condition of power supply lines and power supply installations were set up in all business units of Transneft Kama Region. Before the flood season comes, it is planned to explore the emergency response capabilities – the equipment and materials of mobile units for emergency oil spill elimination, watercraft and all-terrain vehicles.

To ensure reliable and emergency-free functioning of oil pipelines during the flood period, the commission decided to organise an emergency stock of fuel and lubricants, the necessary equipment and materials, regular and special vehicles to promptly respond to potential emergencies.

Implementing the above efforts helps maintain stable operations of Transneft Kama Region’s pipeline system in the periods of spring floods.
