Transneft Kama Region, JSC is revamping automation systems of OPS and telemetry systems of two oil trunk pipelines

   Transneft Kama Region is revamping automation systems of oil pump stations (OPS) and telemetry systems of the linear portion of Surgut Polotsk and Kholmogory Klin oil trunk pipelines (OTP) in Perm Territory, the Republic of Udmurtia and the Republic of Tatarstan.

   The decision on revamping was taken due to moral and physical wear of the equipment in order to ensure reliable operation of automation and telemetry systems of the oil pipeline transportation facilities.

   To the extent of revamping during the first quarter 2017 some work was completed and two automation systems were commissioned: plant control system (PCS) of Kaleikino-3 OPS and firefighting control system (FCS) of Kaleikino OPS. During the second quarter of 2017 revamping of PCS of Perm-2 OPS started, commissioning is planned for the fourth quarter of 2017.

   General construction work to the extent of revamping of the telemetry system of Surgut Polotsk and Kholmogory Klin OTP is under way. At present cabels are being laid, seven foundations for new shelter-type control and monitoring stations (CMS) are organized. Besides, new telemetry cabinets have already been produced, аs well as manometric installations for replacement of worn-out ones in all existing pressure taps of the linear section of Surgut Polotsk and Kholmogory Klin OTP from Perm LODS (Line Operation Dispatcher Station) to Lazarevo LODS. The planned time of completion of the work is the fourth quarter of 2017.

   The work is being performed under the Technical Upgrading and Revamping Programme of Transneft Kama Region. Revamping will make it possible to increase reliability of automation and telemetry systems of the oil pipeline transportation facilities with the use of modern microprocessor means and special software of plant control systems (PCS) according to the current regulations of Transneft.
